Random thinking from inside my head 07/ Purpose

Hello Everyone

Welcome to the inside of my head

Things that they don't (wont) teach us at school

As promised the topic for today is...         Why is this (purpose) not taught to us in school?

I guess the first thing I need to mention is one of my belief systems (BS).

My BS is that I feel that Education begins at home and continues for life we teach our children about life from the very beginning.

That we are all teachers wether we like it or not, That we set an example to not only our children but everyone we come in contact with everyday.

In the way we hold ourself, the way we talk to people and to ourselves, what others see us do and more imporantly what we do when others are not looking.

If it is one thing that children have taught me over the years of watching over them it is that children dont do as we say (tell them) they do as we do.

Do we not owe it to ourselves our children our future to better ourselves any way we can?

To have our life be an example not a warning?

One of my major rules that I have in my life is that if I make you a promise, If I say that I'm going to do something I will do everything in my power and then a hell of a lot more to make sure that I do it. When I work with children (and families) that rule comes across loud and clear the children learn really quickly (really really quickly) that I mean buisness and that I don't back down when it gets tough, they also learn that when I make a promise I WILL keep it, that if they work with me and learn to solve there own problems and be responsible for them and help them relise that there parents are human too that there will be change, whether it be that there will be more time to spend with mum and dad, that the fights with their parents will stop, the grades will get better, that there is hope and you can do something about it and that believe it of not you really can get along with you family no matter what age you are…. Over time the Children and the Parents relise that I really do mean it and if I say I will be there at 6am I am there at 6 am If I say we need to drive around the round about 3 times everytime we pass one I will be dammed if we don't drive around it 3 times everytime (even if my sushi starts moving) and if I keep my word on that and everything else that maybe just maybe there is hope and maybe if they try what I'm asking that it just might work.. And then it does.

If you take your children (or anyones children) to a movie a theme park, putt putt, the swimming pools, a family resturant or just about anywhere there is a teired pay system and the board says children under 5 are free 5 to 10 is $10 and 10 to 18 is $15 and adults are $20 and there is you your 5 year old and 11 year old.

You walk up to the counter and hand over a $50 note and the man hands you back $20 change.. it should only be $5    (Now I know what some of you are thinking well it's his fault you didn't tell him anything they look young enough.. things are exspensive nowdays every bit counts, its not like your not going to spend it there anyway right? And I understand where you are coming from and this is a normal human responce.. )

This is where you get to choose to be an example or a warning to your children.. Do you hand the money back to the man and tell him there is a mistake it should be $45 or do you lie….  Yes it is a lie and take the change and walk on, say well they are only just 5 and 11.

What kind of message are you sending to you children?

That is ok to lie just a little bit no one will know? They know they see that its ok for you so It must be ok for them..

I handed the money back and the young boy who had served me asked why? its not like he could tell the difference the looked under 5 and 10 to him and it's not like anyone would know? I stopped and looked this young man in the eye and told him that I would know that the children would know and that it mattered to me. (if I can show just one person the value of honestky and entegrity then maybe the world would be a better place to live in) It may have just been my imagination but Im sure that young man looked at me differently after that, it was almost like somewhere inside him a light had gone on I choose to believe that one day when the time is right he will remember me and do the right thing by someone else and lead by example.

Thought for the day…  It does not matter to me what your life has been till now, what matters to you is what will you choose your life to be

A warning or A example..

Mental note: don't go so bloody far of track next time, I might have to change the topic for the day..

Friends Random Thinking Back

Hello everyone

This is a response to one of my posts by a very special wonderful friend (you know who you are) who has so much more talent than I have when it comes to sharing a story, I asked her if I could post this so you could share to...

Hope you all enjoy the random thoughts from my friends head

The question I ask in response is this: Do we all become boring or do we simply forget? When we are kids, we do entertain ourselves, but for some the entertaining is simply because there is no one else around. We learn to enjoy our own company. When we grow up, some do still enjoy this company, but are perceived as boring or loners. Am I boring because I like my own company? Or do I become boring in the eyes of others?? Some of us never grow up. Some suffer from the peer pressure to grow up on the outside, but continue to stay young on the inside and some simply become loners and then slowly become to loose the reality of life.

Are you boring? Do you think you are, or is it the idea that has been lit by others? Theme parks are great entertainment, but the older you get the more fun cause we are actually tall enough to ride them. Fair enough that we have enjoyed other things to ride by then and maybe the adrenalin isn't quite the same, but I don't think I'm boring, but everyone else might - so feck them!!

Random thinking from Inside my head 06/ Lollies

Hello Everyone

Welcome to the inside of my head

Todays topic is…  like promised

Why does my Dance Teacher tempt everyone (ME) with lollies on the table at the door when we come in?

Is it a Bribe?

Is it like giving candy to a baby? (Bad for them)

Is it that I really need a mint because all the garlic I had with my dinner is making the young man Im dancing with wish he was a vampire just so he would be able to retreat with a fantastic excuse?

Is it so we find out who the real vampires are? (because acording to twilight they don't eat lollies)

Is it that we all (not me) might need a sugar hit to keep our energy levels up through both classes on the night?

It's a Bribe isint it?

Does she do it so that after we have eaten a few we will feel guilty and dance during the break to burn off all the little calories we consumed without thinking?

Is it that giving us all drinkies instead of lollies could get messy so she stuck to the safe option?

Does she think we are all monkeys and need the yummy yellow banana lollies to make us behave? (wait I think that's just me)

Is it so we know who the undead (zombies) are because they cant eat them?

It just might be a bribe..

Is it so others feel like they are taking candy from a baby when they eat my last yummy yellow banana? (I don't cry)

It it because I should eat that mint but have not because it keeps the not so young man I'm dancing with away…
(wait that's not a reason)

Is it so we can enjoy the little round red balls full of chocolate that we wont buy ourselfs in case we…  you know? (get fat)

Is it so I will be her friend and keep coming to class.. (the bananas work for me)

It is a bribe.

Ok so I have a slighty over active imaginaton and can come up with some wild ideas (storys) but I thought it might be wise to ask my dance teacher if she would tell me the real reason (story) behind why it is she temps me with the LOLLIES at the door every dam class I go to..

Her answer was..  I thought it might be nice..

Mental note: Ahhhhhhh

The thought for the day is…  Keep it simple stupid…..

Random thoughts from inside my head 05/ DreamWorld

Hello Everyone

Welcome to the inside of my head..

I was trying to tidy up my Iphoto files and came across a rather cute shot of a small child that I had walked past while at Dream World on the Gold Coast, while on a road trip holiday from Melbourne to Nossa and back with some like minded crazy friends. (see like minded friends to left)

It was nearing the end of the day and a Dam hot one at that (38) and we had spend most of it standing in a line waiting to go on one crazy ride after the other.

Mental Note:  If you want to really enjoy a theme park go with children, It changes everything your whole outlook on the rides comes from a different place when standing there with some young ones who start freaking you out with how fast its going to go and how far up it is before it drops and before you know it your at the front of the line and there is no way to quietly leave and chicken out without having your pride crushed to smithereens by the two kids behind you who have been on it three times already and were not planning on letting you get away. (see very scary ride behind like minded friends)

This little Child was just sitting there in a world of their own entertaining themselves and having a ball.. It was to cute for me not to take a picture (parents were nearby and I asked)

So the thought for today is     Why do we become Boring?

Children seem to be able to entertain themselves for hours without any major external input (internet) on a regular basis so why cant we?

Random thinking from inside my head 04/ Memories

Hello Everyone

Welcome to the inside of my head

Todays topic is a little out of left field..  Memories Children help us create (things they do to us)

I was at Dance class on Wensday night and chatting to a few of my fellow dancers at the end of the night while my wonderful teacher went over some footwork and body movement with someone.
We covered a few topics and as it does work came up, My passion is creating an exciting and compelling future for people primarily children and their families and once you get me stated its a little hard to shut me up, One of the young gentleman I was chatting to reminded me of a time long ago when I had first moved to Sydney and was working with a special family with two wonderful special children Maddie and her brother Angus,  Now Angus is a Very Special child in many many ways but most people remember him for the label of Autistic the doctors have given him..

Im going to share this story with you so you to can enjoy the wonderful Memories that this family have left with me (permission was asked for and granted by the family) and all names remain the same so you can identify them in the future so you can be safe..

The story goes that we had only just moved to Sydney and had been living out of a serviced apartment (flash one) in Darling Harbor and didn't have all the creature comforts we were used to and Angus was having a little bit of trouble settling into this new environment, He was always trying to find new ways to challenge me and entertain (torment) his little sister that kept us on our toes, BUT one wonderful busy Sunny day I missed something (this does not happen often) that had happened in the morning, Mum had broken a nail and had run down to get some super glue from the local corner shop and had left it in her toiletry bag that normally does not have anything sharp toxic or red in it, (we had learnt from the last wall of shame but thats another story) its around 11 am and Angus wonders off to the toilet and a little while goes past and he hasn't come back..         TROUBLE
I call out no answer, again I call out all is quiet to quiet then I hear ENNNNNNNA ENNNNNNNA (Angus cant say my name properly) that was about the time I put my body into warp speed and launch myself into the bathroom.

OK WARNING PEOPLE THE LANGUAGE HERE CHANGES DONT READ ON IF YOUR SENSITIVE

(Background info is Angus rests him um little thingie on the toilet seat when he needs to drain it.)
I launch myself into the bathroom slipping on the tiles in socked feet almost breaking my neck on the bath tub I look up and he's standing at the toilet looking back over his shoulder at me with this oh &$%@ look on his face I look around frantic, no nothings broken bleeding or covered in red nail polish, I'm not broken or bleeding so what could be wrong..   Angus looks at me, looks back around and down to the toilet and looks back at me without saying anything so I pick myself up off the floor trying not to slide again take a step closer and you need me I ask, ennnna stuck he says

STUCK??????

I approach with care (Angus does not like people to close or contact) to look at what's happened imagining he's placed his thingie under the seat playing a game (wishful thinking) and to my wonderful surprise I see that not only has he superglued his thingie to the seat but also his hand, completely stick no move no budge nada...   @%$^ was the first work out of my mouth (very responsible that was)
the whole tube of super glue has been emptied onto said body parts and mushed and is now floating with its lid of in the bottom of the toilet. Anybody with any experience with super glue now knows how totally messed up I now am.

Im stuck in Darling harbor with two children one who is rather stuck and one who is not and no parents in sight for about another nine hours......
Option One I could leave stuck child behind and go for help with mobile child its not like he can go far.. (not really something a responsible adult like myself could do)
Option Two I call the parents (Not a Option)
Option Three I take mobile and stuck child with me.
Use your imagination now..... I'm walking through a busy crowded Darling Harbor at lunch time on a nice sunny day with one child shuffling along holding (stuck) onto a toilet seat clutching on for dear life to the back of his pants with his loving little sister laughing all the way through the mall past the food court and down to the corner shop and back and me trying to look like all was under control that we do this all the time honest, we made it to the shop and with a little explaining the gentleman (he didn't laugh at us while we were there) recommended we purchase two bottles of nail polish remover and try rubbing...   I proceeded to march everyone home and I can happily tell you with a little elbow grease (no pun) Angus is now able to roam free from the toilet seat.

Angus no longer plays with super glue or rests his thingie on anything anymore, No animals were hurt in this story.

MENTAL NOTE: Do not leave superglue below head height anywhere near any children and some adults ever.

I hope you have enjoyed a little giggle, come back soon for some more scary adventures from inside my head.

Random thinking from inside my head 03/ Sushi

Hello Everyone

Welcome to the inside of my head

Todays topic like promised is..         What is the Best day for Sushi?

Everyday is a great day for Sushi.. In my BS (Belief System) there is never ever a bad time for seaweed.

I Love Sushi (for those to slow to notice) there is this little place up the road from me that is fantastic (Sushi Bay), They have everything I want there and they meet my needs very well, As i eat a not so ordinary L
ifestyle Choice (Diet) I find it can be a challenge for some people to serve me when I eat out, So if I find somewhere that I really enjoy the food Like the people and they dont kick me out in the first four visits I go back often, Thank goodness for bonus points.
I love watching the little colored plates go round and round it bring out my hunter gather side.. Without the killing, the hunting without really hunting.
It is always very interesting watching the other people who come along to eat with me (total stranger sitting next to me) I love the guesses they come up for some of the foods like the ell cant be ell they wouldn't eat that but fish thats ok, the chicken balls that are really octopus and so on..  Sometimes I do worry when I see people who sit there with a friend and comment on how they are eating healthy and doing the right thing by ha
ving Sushi for lunch when the choices they are making are far from the healthy kind.... People if it is deep fried in oil it is deep fried in oil there is no way to pretend that is good for you, the i'm having tuna its ok even when they know its covered in mayo and I do mean covered, now dont get me wrong im not telling you what to eat I'm just letting you know it is my BS is that what you put in will determine the level of output you will get, We all make mistakes... (see picture of No Meat Meat in a can with instant mash)
So take Person A and feed them one highly processed can of soup and one loaf of highly processed bread with all sorts added to both with lots of numbers behind them on the label and then Person B and feed them a fresh garden salad and some corn jack fritters I can tell you who will be awake and alert after dinner and who is not as im sure you all can to..

So question for the day is..     Why
when we know it is not good do we keep doing it?   if it comes in a can and we know its highly processed and full of badness why do we keep buying it?

My Mistake No MEAT MEAT in a can......

(Mental note) People NEVER EVER eat no meat meat from a can EVER..
I was camping and I went Hungry, Very Hungry Bla

Random thinking from inside my head 02/ Conversation

Hello Everyone

Welcome to the inside of my head again.

What a interesting day today was...   I had Sushi for lunch, Wednesday is always a good day for Sushi

It is amazing what insights one get just by talking to people, people you hardly know but seem to hit it off with really well. (seem being the word of the day)

I was at dance class and having one of these said conversations.
I love my dancing I have been doing it for many many years (wont give my age away) and have always found it a wonderful thing to turn my mind down to a mild thump from the day or socialize with strangers, catch up with old friends, a form of expressing myself and scaring others that is never ending I plan on dancing on my own grave I love it that much.
Sometimes I can be a tiny tiny bit disruptive in class but that is just my enthusiasm spilling over, I like to think I inspire some of the class sometimes to lighten up a little.
(Warning) It would have to be a rather long stretch of the imagination to say that I am subtle, as all of my dancing friends will attest to this honest,
I can be rather outspoken on some topics that I feel passionate about..   (EVERYTHING)
So the conversation started out all innocent and sweet and turned crazy real quick so beer with me on this one its a little like a roller coaster..

Person A : So what do you (really) think of my dancing?
Me : well you need to stand up straight you have the height and you should use it.. (polite version)
Person A : (well your fantastic so) could you show me a new move?
Me : Stick to basics Kid trust me if you can get them down pat and smooth it will give you a foundation to build on.
Person A : But I feel I need to more (fancy) moves so the girls will want to dance with me.
Me : Girls would rather dance a smooth well executed basic pattern rather than be thrown around floor by man (monkey) who thinks they know heaps of moves (badly)
Person A: Oh ok i think i get it            (needs more help)
Me : What is your purpose in life?    (this is where went loopy loop)
Person A : What.....
Me : Repeat Question..
Person A : I dont know yet, Why?
Me : how can you not have a purpose?
Person A : I dont know have not worked it out..
Me :Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh      (then my brain feel out)

So thought for the day (night) is.......   How can you live and I mean really live if you have no purpose in your life?

Future topics I feel the need to rattle in head will be.     (dangerous)

Why is this not taught to us in school?
What do we need to change in our society to make people feel alive again?
What day is best day for Sushi?
Why does my Dance Teacher tempt me with lollies at the door?
How do we find our purpose in Life?

Well thats all for now time to pad the inside of my head and dull out the thumping. (bed time)
Let me know if you would like to hear more about my topics and I will keep you posted on my brains status for that day

Random thinking from inside my head/ Insperation

Hello Everyone

Welcome to the inside of my head.

I sometimes find I have to many thoughts going around and around bouncing off the inside of my head as Im sure you all do at some point to.
So I have decided that I will put some of these thoughts down into a blog so you to can share the messy and sometimes scary place my head can be.

I was out today wondering around the local mall trying to find some inspiration and found myself watching families, there was the lady sitting reading while her little one played at her feet chewing on the hem of her dress, there were the twin boys who were nagging mum to take then into Smiggle (we all know how dangerous that shop can be) when all she really wanted to do was finish the food shopping, Not to mention how many people were standing in line at the Bad food Giant Mc Dee's.  I could not help but notice that someone out there was very smart at creating a exciting and challenging obstacle course for parents to navigate there children through..  Someone's Making money.  The food market was miles away from the entrances so no matter where you can in there was something to navigate past.. blue car park = donut house, green car park = games shop and Mac Donalds, red car park = smiggle, orange = the popcorn place that does the snack size packs that kids just love, But wait thats not all dont forget The skate and Surf place, the pet shop, the scary bling bling and makeup place that every little girl wants to look in, the ice scream place, toys galore and much much more its not surprising that parents everywhere are pulling their hair out.

But in all of this it became apparent to me that the children were generally happy..

So my thought for today is..   Are children happy because they have to look up all the time?

Stay tuned for more weird and wonderful thoughts
