Random thinking from inside my head 07/ Purpose
Hello Everyone
Welcome to the inside of my head
Things that they don't (wont) teach us at school
As promised the topic for today is... Why is this (purpose) not taught to us in school?
I guess the first thing I need to mention is one of my belief systems (BS).
My BS is that I feel that Education begins at home and continues for life we teach our children about life from the very beginning.
That we are all teachers wether we like it or not, That we set an example to not only our children but everyone we come in contact with everyday.
In the way we hold ourself, the way we talk to people and to ourselves, what others see us do and more imporantly what we do when others are not looking.
If it is one thing that children have taught me over the years of watching over them it is that children dont do as we say (tell them) they do as we do.
Do we not owe it to ourselves our children our future to better ourselves any way we can?
To have our life be an example not a warning?
One of my major rules that I have in my life is that if I make you a promise, If I say that I'm going to do something I will do everything in my power and then a hell of a lot more to make sure that I do it. When I work with children (and families) that rule comes across loud and clear the children learn really quickly (really really quickly) that I mean buisness and that I don't back down when it gets tough, they also learn that when I make a promise I WILL keep it, that if they work with me and learn to solve there own problems and be responsible for them and help them relise that there parents are human too that there will be change, whether it be that there will be more time to spend with mum and dad, that the fights with their parents will stop, the grades will get better, that there is hope and you can do something about it and that believe it of not you really can get along with you family no matter what age you are…. Over time the Children and the Parents relise that I really do mean it and if I say I will be there at 6am I am there at 6 am If I say we need to drive around the round about 3 times everytime we pass one I will be dammed if we don't drive around it 3 times everytime (even if my sushi starts moving) and if I keep my word on that and everything else that maybe just maybe there is hope and maybe if they try what I'm asking that it just might work.. And then it does.
If you take your children (or anyones children) to a movie a theme park, putt putt, the swimming pools, a family resturant or just about anywhere there is a teired pay system and the board says children under 5 are free 5 to 10 is $10 and 10 to 18 is $15 and adults are $20 and there is you your 5 year old and 11 year old.
You walk up to the counter and hand over a $50 note and the man hands you back $20 change.. it should only be $5 (Now I know what some of you are thinking well it's his fault you didn't tell him anything they look young enough.. things are exspensive nowdays every bit counts, its not like your not going to spend it there anyway right? And I understand where you are coming from and this is a normal human responce.. )
This is where you get to choose to be an example or a warning to your children.. Do you hand the money back to the man and tell him there is a mistake it should be $45 or do you lie…. Yes it is a lie and take the change and walk on, say well they are only just 5 and 11.
What kind of message are you sending to you children?
That is ok to lie just a little bit no one will know? They know they see that its ok for you so It must be ok for them..
I handed the money back and the young boy who had served me asked why? its not like he could tell the difference the looked under 5 and 10 to him and it's not like anyone would know? I stopped and looked this young man in the eye and told him that I would know that the children would know and that it mattered to me. (if I can show just one person the value of honestky and entegrity then maybe the world would be a better place to live in) It may have just been my imagination but Im sure that young man looked at me differently after that, it was almost like somewhere inside him a light had gone on I choose to believe that one day when the time is right he will remember me and do the right thing by someone else and lead by example.
Thought for the day… It does not matter to me what your life has been till now, what matters to you is what will you choose your life to be
A warning or A example..
Mental note: don't go so bloody far of track next time, I might have to change the topic for the day..

Friends Random Thinking Back
Hello everyone This is a response to one of my posts by a very special wonderful friend (you know who you are) who has so much more talent than I have when it comes to sharing a story, I asked her if I could post this so you could share to... Hope you all enjoy the random thoughts from my friends head The question I ask in response is this: Do we all become boring or do we simply forget? When we are kids, we do entertain ourselves, but for some the entertaining is simply because there is no one else around. We learn to enjoy our own company. When we grow up, some do still enjoy this company, but are perceived as boring or loners. Am I boring because I like my own company? Or do I become boring in the eyes of others?? Some of us never grow up. Some suffer from the peer pressure to grow up on the outside, but continue to stay young on the inside and some simply become loners and then slowly become to loose the reality of life. Selena

Random thinking from Inside my head 06/ Lollies
Welcome to the inside of my head
Todays topic is… like promised
Why does my Dance Teacher tempt everyone (ME) with lollies on the table at the door when we come in?
Is it a Bribe?
Is it like giving candy to a baby? (Bad for them)
Is it that I really need a mint because all the garlic I had with my dinner is making the young man Im dancing with wish he was a vampire just so he would be able to retreat with a fantastic excuse?
Is it so we find out who the real vampires are? (because acording to twilight they don't eat lollies)
Is it that we all (not me) might need a sugar hit to keep our energy levels up through both classes on the night?
It's a Bribe isint it?
Does she do it so that after we have eaten a few we will feel guilty and dance during the break to burn off all the little calories we consumed without thinking?

Random thoughts from inside my head 05/ DreamWorld
Hello Everyone
Welcome to the inside of my head..
I was trying to tidy up my Iphoto files and came across a rather cute shot of a small child that I had walked past while at Dream World on the Gold Coast, while on a road trip holiday from Melbourne to Nossa and back with some like minded crazy friends. (see like minded friends to left)
It was nearing the end of the day and a Dam hot one at that (38) and we had spend most of it standing in a line waiting to go on one crazy ride after the other.
Mental Note: If you want to really enjoy a theme park go with children, It changes everything your whole outlook on the rides comes from a different place when standing there with some young ones who start freaking you out with how fast its going to go and how far up it is before it drops and before you know it your at the front of the line and there is no way to quietly leave and chicken out without having your pride crushed to smithereens by the two kids behind you who have been on it three times already and were not planning on letting you get away. (see very scary ride behind like minded friends)
This little Child was just sitting there in a world of their own entertaining themselves and having a ball.. It was to cute for me not to take a picture (parents were nearby and I asked)
So the thought for today is Why do we become Boring?
Children seem to be able to entertain themselves for hours without any major external input (internet) on a regular basis so why cant we?
